I've decided to pick up my crochet hooks again. It's something I've always enjoyed doing, but other hobbies and motherhood took over. My other delicious habit is landscape photography, but it's not feasible with tiny tots. Crocheting is a creative process, it's portable and a great way to relax or meditate when my children and husband are asleep. There's no mess to clean up afterwards, no special equipment or processing required. Just a hook and a string- it's that simple. I've become quite obsessed with ripple afghans, and finally took the time to learn an easy pattern. I can't wait until it's finished. It will be a nice baby blanket for a boy. There's at least 3 babies born every year in my husbands family, and it will definitely be a nice gift. If anyone is interested, I learned this very easy pattern here:

It's simple enough for a beginner, and the possibilities are endless ;)
Happy Hookin'!
